Introduction to Long Range Precision Shooting
The Bolt Action Rifle has been in use since the early 1800’s. Since the adaptation of the self-contained Metallic Cartridge, the Bolt Action Rifle has been widely used throughout the world for various applications. The modern Bolt Action Rifle is synonymous with precision and accuracy but successful shot placement at distance requires meticulous execution of marksmanship fundamentals. Consistency is the key in Long Range Precision shooting. This session will be introducing you to the fundamentals of items such as Minutes of Angle (MOA) and how to compensate for things like bullet drop, spin drift, wind and other atmospheric conditions. Mastery of long-range shooting is a skill that requires patience, commitment, and practice but it is a wonderful feeling when you hear that steel gong “ring” at 200, 600, even 1,000 yards.
